Research Interests
My primary research interest concerns the identification of methodologies to support the effectiveness of IT resources in organizations. In particular with my PhD I have been investigating the relationships between IT Resources and Value Generating activities inside organizations, and I have developed an innovative methodology capable of supporting IT Value effectiveness assessments in organizations.
On the basis of an empirical study that has been carried out in partnership with a foreign research institutions (the Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik of the University of Liechtenstein) and with the IT division of an international manufacturing company (Hilti Befestigungstechnik Ag), I have proposed in my PhD dissertation a new approach to model the relationships among IT Resources and Value Generating Activities. The approach proposed is intended to support value assessments of IT resources and to further scientific research on the topic of the effectiveness of the IT resource inside organizations. The proposed approach defines a feasible methodology to identify strategic resources that thoroughly contribute to the value generation process inside an organization.
Besides this primary research interest I have also had the time to cultivate secondary interests in topics like: Technology and Organizational Fit, Knowledge Management in professional organizations (with specific focus on the organizations working in the Cultural Heritage and Archaeological domain), Quality Perceptions of End-Users of Open Source Software.
