Fuse on Mac PDF Print E-mail

Sometimes ago I have written an article regarding the possibility to use remote web space as a disk, through ssh. The article was illustrating the usage of fuse for Linux to achieve such a goal. Since I have switched to a Mac recently, I did some small web search to discover whether it could be possible to to the same thing in Mac OS X or not, and the answer is...

...of course yes. Mac OS X comes with a ssh client, but not with fuse. To be able to use a remote web space (which has ssh access) as a web disk, the ssh client is not enough, and fuse is needed. Of course there is also a version of fuse for Mac, it is called macfuse. You can download it from http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/. The installation process is quite easy. Once you have installed it you can use it in the exact way that I have described in the article on Linux. I suggest you to read it again Smile.
