The migration to the Mac platform is now completed. This message you are reading right now has been written directly from my new MacBook Pro. The first impressions of the first days are all positive. The only thing that I did not liked at all, was the migration of all my mailboxes from maildir to mailbox format, migration that I had to do using Evolution (for Mac) to convert the mailboxes that have been imported from Kontact. In the honor of truth, I have to say that Kontact was able, as well, to convert from maildir to mailbox but I have encountered two problems. The first one is just personal: my old notebook was so slow that Kontact was not able to handle the format conversion in a reasonable amount of time. The second problem is more technical: I do not know why, but Mail failed to import mailboxes converted from maildir to mailbox by Kontact, while it imported those converted with Evolution. This is strange!!! Anyhow, the import and conversion process from Evolution to Mail was not straightforward either. Mail had some difficulties (let's say that it was crashing) everytime that I wanted to import a mailbox with more than 1.500/2.000 e-mails in it. That's why I had to split large mailboxes in smaller ones and rebuild the mailbox later, by hands. It really was a long process... but, thank God, it is over :-).
