Welcome to Thailand PDF Print E-mail

Following the crazy compass of my life, this time I'm headed in Thailand. I am in Pa Tong (it was supposed to be Phuket, but it seems that city is on the other side of the mountain). What should I say, again, like when I was in Australia, I am in the deep summer while in Italy is still winter (even if spring is knocking on the door).

The nature is amazing and the landscape in the town is fascinating but strange. Everything looks like frozen in the 60s, or, at least, that's the image I had that comes to my mind when I see that world out there. Just one detail in particular: wires. It is full of wire. In a wireless era here wires are everywhere. They are not buried into the ground but they all stand in nice view along the main street of the city. Sometimes it is really a mess, but it's a fascinating mess.

This country isstille healing itself from the scars of the tsunami. Besides the old fisherman which is going up and down the street with his fresh fish to sell you can seebuilding being renewed, rebuilt or simply abandoned. Strange but fun, all the people I meet in the street, they really do not look sad, they are quite happy. They always smile. Maybe who has less has really much more...
